The Vice Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:44 pm.

Approval of Minutes:
MOTION: to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 8, 2008, as presented.
MOVED: by Mike Kelley; SECONDED: by Jerry Brophy; IN FAVOR: Jerry Brophy, Mike Kelley, Charlie Cobb, Robert Siegelman; OPPOSED: none; ABSTAINED: none; APPROVED: 4-0-0
The Old Saybrook Council on Environmental Quality:
Jerry Brophy reported that the group has categorized environmental indicators into three groups; environmental, social and economic. The Council will be deciding on ways to measure the indicators along with current status and expected goals.
The Natural Heritage Tour/ Sinage:
Mike Kelley visited the stops in search of locations for signs. Most areas are promising. A center fold out map of the Tour will be provided in the August edition of the Saybrook Events.
Crystal Lake Fishway:
Further work on the Fishway has been postponed from April 1st through July 15th. Charlie Cobb reported that only one fish has been spotted so far. Over 20,000 eels have been counted.
Oyster Restoration:
Robert Siegleman will make contact with Larry Bonin to offer assistance.
Vernal Pools:
Charlie Cobb recapped the hunt for vernal pools. The season is now over and verifying will begin early next year. The Commission will speak with Kelley Volansky, from the Land Use Department, to obtain specific information on confirmed and unconfirmed sites.
Plan for Additional Projects:
Charlie Cobb stated that the Notable Trees project was underway.
